How Do I See My Relationship to Other Users in Family Tree?

Family Tree is a growing collection of family genealogies, contributed by people from all over the world, over many years.

The shared nature of the tree makes it possible for users to see how they are related. Both users must enable relationship viewing.

When you enable relationship viewing you agree to allow other users to see certain aspects of your account:

  • Their relationship to you
  • Your profile
  • Your portrait photo in Family Tree, if available
  • Shared ancestors

Information about living individuals in your tree is not visible to other users as part of relationship viewing.

The relationship information is available when another user clicks your profile in Family Tree or Memories. An option to view the relationship is displayed, along with the contact details.

You can enable or disable relationship viewing in your account settings.
